Lesson - Straddle summary
Now we put everything we learned to practice. We take it slow at first and build the chain of motions. Don't be discouraged if this feels odd at first. We remember to think about the parts when building this technique and slowly start to feel the energy transferring to the disc from our lower body. Hone in the technique from 5m or 15ft so you can learn the motions first and make sure every repetition counts.

Lesson - Lower body rotation
Thomas talks about his way of transferring power from the lower body to his technique. We have a good position and we have a good brace in our front leg. Next we start to rotate our lower body and hips to make that linear motion into a circular motion.

Exercise - Pulling through the power pocket
Here is a good exercise to keep your hand in check. Please do not hurt yourself by doing this exercise. The idea is to give you a clear frame of reference when practicing but the point is not to hit your hand to the wall until you get it right. Start slow and gradually speed up, but again, do not hit your hand to the wall.

Now it's time to put all the pieces together. First practice without the steps to get the timing right, then add the last steps and finally do the full run-up. Exercise with precision and intent, and be mindful of the movements. We can record our performance with a cellphone to have more analysis tools on the key points provided in the end of this exercise video. Enjoy!
