We are at Konopiště castle grounds at Benešov in the Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic with Hall-of-Famer Scott Stokely and the local legend Jakub Semerád!
In this Tactial Training session we will play through the Euro Tour 2023 layout of Franz Ferdinand course that was designed by none other than Discmania founder Jussi Meresmaa in 2006.
This course has a lot of history all over the grounds. It has been the scene of legendary competitions like the World Tour, Euro Tour, and European Championships and it's making a stop in 2025 as the starting point of the European stretch of the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
Last owner of the Konopiště Castle was the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria who's assassination in Sarajevo lit the powder keg and was the immediate cause of World War I in 1914.
This is an amazing insight to the course and it's intricacies. Generally the course should be easy and very scoreable, but there are some decisions to be made that can ruin otherwise perfect rounds. We have an amazing feature also from the past so keep an eye out and try to learn from this amazing course!

We hope that this course will give you some ideas for your gameplay. Many of these shot shapes can be found all over the world and by observing and analyzing what the pros do, we gain more understanding of what you should at least try to do on your rounds. There is much valuable information on the decision-making here and we can guarantee that when you watch this content, you will become a more versatile player.
Why should I watch this course?
We cannot guarantee that the layout is going to be the same. Some of the holes have been switched and some teepads are in a different spot, but the general layout should remain the same. It is common that the tournament staff tweaks the course to better the flow and make some holes more challenging while others might get easier based on the rounds played previous years. Sometimes they might add an OB area here, and a DZ there, but the general feel stays the same.
